Terms of Service
The reasonable rules for using Roots.
The deal
Roots is a SaaS product for small teams. You sign up, create a team, invite teammates, track weekly commitments. We host it and keep it running.
By using Roots you agree to these terms.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. One person per account. You're liable for activity on your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
Your team's data
Your team owns whatever data you create in Roots — your KPIs, time entries, etc. We don't claim ownership.
We just store it, back it up, and let your team access it.
Subscriptions and billing
Plans are billed monthly or annually in GBP via Stripe. Your team's owner is responsible for billing.
You can change plan or cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation stops auto-renewal at the end of your current period; we don't refund partial periods unless required by law.
If we increase prices, we'll give you 30 days' notice via email.
What you can't do
Using Roots, you agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to break the service
- Resell access without our written permission
- Use Roots to harass anyone, store illegal content, or violate any law
- Try to circumvent plan limits (e.g. using multiple free teams to avoid paying)
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
What we can't do
We do our best to keep Roots running, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Things break. We'll tell you when they do.
Roots is provided "as-is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our maximum liability for any claim related to Roots is the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Ending the deal
You can delete your account or team any time from settings. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data within 30 days (some backups may persist longer for technical reasons, then are deleted).
We can terminate accounts that violate these terms or for serious non-payment. We'll give you reasonable notice unless the violation is severe.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree to a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales.
